                                   Acts of the Slihe (Apostles) 4: 32 – 5:11

Mar Mari is known as the disciple of Mar Addai and Mar Addai is known as the disciple of Mar Thoma Sleeha. Our First and earliest form of Qurbana is named after Mar Addai and Mar Mari. They are the first fathers of our East Syrian Churches after Mar Thoma Sleeha the Father of our Faith or Margam. They are called even as the slihe of the East.

 Do we celebrate this Feast meaningfully? If we celebrate our Qurbana in its full form with love and faith on this day, it is the best way to remember Mar Mari since, our Qurbana is known in the name of Mar Mari.  Of course they may not be the direct persons who wrote our Syriac Qurbana. As in the case of Holy Book, their disciples might have written it and promulgated in their name since they are well appreciated in the Church and since the matter of the text (Holy Qurbana) proclaim the faith of the early Fathers and so of the Early Church.

If we forget to celebrate the Early and first and basic Feasts and run only after the modern feasts we are building our faith not on rock but on soil. When it is raining…..

MAR WAALAH ;( my Lord & my God) RISEN IESHO MISHIHA, HAVE MERCY ON ME A SINNER.

Kaitha means summer. It is the time of fruits. It is the season where we remember the Church of God and of Slihe who produced fruits and produces fruits by the mercy of Maran Waalahan (our Lord &our God). It is through the Holy Mysteries (Sacraments) the Church produces fruits. We, the children of the Church shall participate in Her Holy Mysteries and produce fruits.

The 1^st Sunday of Kaitha is known as NUSARDEL. It is explained as the Festival of Aalaha (God) and the memorial of 12 Slihe (Apostles).

Holy veil opens for us

Door of heaven opens for us

Those who repent rejoice;

here in our Qurbana.

Lord our God of mercy

Shower Your mercy upon us.

By that let us repent on

our debts and harden sins.

Lord of mountains give me strength

to enter your holy mountain.

Mountain waits for me to come

I wait to move to mountain.

Obstacles are many and sweet

waiting to take me with them.

My thoughts call me now and then

Often I stand here and there

Love of lord moves me again;

helping me to climb upon.

On that mountain I see Him

On that mountain I hear Him

On that mountain I get Him

Our father’s name means twin.
Some call him, his Master’s twin.
Many even forgot His name.
He was one of great twelve.

His margam flows from MARGAM
His truths start from That TRUTH
His lives; we, start from The LIFE
Praise to MARGAM, TRUTH and LIFE.

Our Father; from Orslem,
He was sent to Hendo land.
He spread URHA upon all
Urha, Persia,Selucia.

India is blessed by URHA
On fifty’s he came, India;
Spread URHA on eight places;
Kodungaloor to Mylapoor.

He was killed at Mylapoor.
His tomb is at Mylapoor.
Lord’s sign is at Mylapoor;
we call; Mar Thoma Sleeva.

Mar Thoma Sleeva expresses
Eesho Mishiha; MAR WAALAH,
One who rose from depth of death.
Thoma calls Him MAR WAALAH.

From the lips of our Father,
We shall call Him MAR WAALAH.
Risen Lord Mishiha comes in us,
as he came to Mar Thoma.

Our Lord and our God,
comes in Holy Qurbana.
See, hear and have Qurbana,
together with our Father.

Blind man asks for Lord’s mercy;
I would like to have the sight.
Son of David, lord Eesho,
gave him basic need to see.

Our Lord and our God;

SLEEHA 6th Thursday (01 07 2010)

SLEEHA= one who is sent. There are 12 SLEEHE or apostles who are sent by our Lord Eesho. Our Lord Eesho prayed and selected 12. They are the pillars of the Holy Church. The Corner Stone of the Church is Eesho Mishiha. The real Church of our Lord is recognized by referring to her whether who is the Father of Her. If a Church has a Father from the 12 Sleehe, She can be called the Church of our Lord and our God.

Our Church, Mar Thoma Nazrani Church (Syro- Malabar Church) has Sleeha, Sent by our Lord Eesho.By that reason He is our Father of Faith. We should always thank Maran Walahan (our Lord our God) for calling us to become members of this Church through the Holy Mystery of Mammodeesa (Baptism).

By the mercy of Maran Walahan we begin to spread the Mar Sleeva (risen Eesho) Margam (way) through this blog.
