Kudash Edtha (Pallikudasha):

Palli is a Pahlavi word. It means Congregation or to congregate. This term is used for the Congregation of the Lord. Palli refers to local Parish (Home of God) as well as Church as a whole. At the term Pallikudasha,  Palli refers to Church of Lord as a whole. (Dayra Vol I, p.59)

Kudasha: Kudasha is a Syriac word and it means Sanctification, Hallowing, Renewal, Consecration etc... Edtha: Edtha is a Syriac word and it means Church or Palli.

Kudash Edtha or Pallikudasha season asks us to recollect upon the Mysteries of the sanctification or hallowing or renewal or consecration of the bride Edtha (Church) by the bridegroom Risen Iesho Mshiha who makes entry for His bride to the Heavenly bride chamber.

A prayer to recite to recollect the Mystery of Pallikudasha

Glory be to You Mshiha, who makes entry for Your bride the Church into the heavenly bride chamber.

Lord of Marth Mariam have mercy on us.

Mar Mari is known as the disciple of Mar Addai and Mar Addai is known as the disciple of Mar Thoma Sleeha. Our First and earliest form of Qurbana is named after Mar Addai and Mar Mari. They are the first fathers of our East Syrian Churches after Mar Thoma Sleeha the Father of our Faith or Margam. They are called even as the slihe of the East.

 Do we celebrate this Feast meaningfully? If we celebrate our Qurbana in its full form with love and faith on this day, it is the best way to remember Mar Mari since, our Qurbana is known in the name of Mar Mari.  Of course they may not be the direct persons who wrote our Syriac Qurbana. As in the case of Holy Book, their disciples might have written it and promulgated in their name since they are well appreciated in the Church and since the matter of the text (Holy Qurbana) proclaim the faith of the early Fathers and so of the Early Church.

If we forget to celebrate the Early and first and basic Feasts and run only after the modern feasts we are building our faith not on rock but on soil. When it is raining…..

MAR WAALAH ;( my Lord & my God) RISEN IESHO MISHIHA, HAVE MERCY ON ME A SINNER.

Kaitha means summer. It is the time of fruits. It is the season where we remember the Church of God and of Slihe who produced fruits and produces fruits by the mercy of Maran Waalahan (our Lord &our God). It is through the Holy Mysteries (Sacraments) the Church produces fruits. We, the children of the Church shall participate in Her Holy Mysteries and produce fruits.

The 1^st Sunday of Kaitha is known as NUSARDEL. It is explained as the Festival of Aalaha (God) and the memorial of 12 Slihe (Apostles).
